Solfit and ATMOCE have signed an exclusive partnership agreement for the UK new-build housing market, creating a standardised AC renewable energy framework for housebuilders.

The agreement brings together Solfit’s roof-integrated solar platform and solution-led delivery framework with ATMOCE’s AC architecture, microinverter, battery storage and energy management technologies.

The partnership is focused on addressing the fragmentation that still characterises renewable energy delivery in new-build housing, where roofing, solar, electrical systems, storage, certification and homeowner handover are often treated as separate workstreams.

Together, Solfit and ATMOCE will develop a coordinated framework that brings roof integration, electrical architecture, generation, storage, monitoring, certification, assurance and homeowner handover into one standardised approach for delivery across sites and house types.

A more standardised approach to new-build renewables

The announcement comes as the housebuilding industry prepares for the next stage of the Future Homes Standard in England.

New Building Regulations published in March 2026 introduce requirements for on-site renewable electricity generation in new dwellings, with the regulations due to come into force on 24 March 2027, subject to transitional arrangements.

As renewable technologies become a more established part of new-home design, Solfit believes the industry needs to move away from fragmented, product-by-product delivery and towards a more standardised, solution-led approach.

For housebuilders, the aim is to provide a framework that can be specified, delivered and supported consistently across different house types, sites and developments.

AC architecture designed for new-build delivery

ATMOCE’s panel-level microinverter technology converts electricity at the point of generation, minimising roof-level DC voltage and site-made DC connections.

This provides an alternative to traditional string-based solar architecture and allows solar generation, AC-coupled battery storage and energy management to operate within a coordinated electrical system.

ATMOCE’s residential portfolio also includes AC-coupled extra-low-voltage battery storage and digital monitoring and energy management technologies.

Combined with Solfit’s roof-integrated solar system, the partnership is intended to create a single framework that brings technology and delivery together from the outset.

From specification to site delivery

Solfit’s role extends beyond roof-integrated solar technology.

Its solution-led framework is designed to turn specification into consistent site delivery through:

  • System design
  • Contractor training and enablement
  • Compliance oversight
  • Digital installation auditing
  • Evidence capture
  • Certification alignment
  • Homeowner handover
  • Warranty and assurance support
  • Ongoing technical support

ATMOCE provides the underlying energy conversion, storage and energy management technology, while Solfit provides the framework for applying that technology consistently within the new-build environment.

The two companies said this approach is intended to improve consistency across house types and developments while reducing the interfaces between roofing, solar, electrical systems and storage.

“The industry needs to move away from fragmented delivery”

Lee Chadwick, Group Managing Director at Solfit, said:

“The industry needs to move away from fragmented product-by-product delivery if renewable technologies are going to scale across new-build housing in a safe, compliant and commercially sustainable way.

“Our partnership with ATMOCE brings together our expertise in roof-integrated solar and new-build delivery with ATMOCE’s AC technology platform. This gives us the opportunity to create a more joined-up approach to generation, storage and energy management, while maintaining the standards of delivery and assurance that housebuilders require.”

Tim Sharman, UK Sales Director at ATMOCE, said:

“This partnership brings ATMOCE’s AC architecture into a delivery framework designed specifically for the UK new-build market.

“Solfit’s experience in the UK new-build market and its managed delivery framework make it a strong partner for bringing this approach into the sector. By combining Solfit’s roof-integrated solution with ATMOCE’s microinverter, storage and energy management technologies, we can offer housebuilders a more integrated route to designing renewable energy into new homes.

“Solfit’s understanding of new-build delivery is what makes the partnership significant. It creates a route to apply the technology within a standardised framework that can be deployed more consistently across developments.”

What happens next

The partnership will initially focus on the UK new-build housing sector, with Solfit and ATMOCE working alongside housebuilders, developers, installers and other delivery partners to deploy the framework across new housing developments.

Over the coming weeks, Solfit and ATMOCE will share more about the technology, the role of AC architecture and how the framework is designed to support renewable energy delivery at scale.
