Can Solfit be used with different panel types?

No – panels come pre-framed with our own laminates

What panel manufacturer does Solfit use?

Solfit uses a double glass laminate manufactured by a solar Manufacturer called Jetion

Why does Solfit use Double glass Bifacial panels?

Solfit use Bifacial laminates as they are stronger and have a higher fire rating than single glass laminates.

Does Solfit use plastic mounting trays like GSE?

No, Solfit panels use an interlocking aluminium frame that is fitted to the PV laminate in the factory

What weight are Solfit Panels?

375Wp; 25Kg 425Wp; 26.7Kg

Are Jetion Solar Tier 1 Bloomsburg approved?

Does Solfit only come in Landscape configuration?

At present Solfit only comes in a Landscape orientated configuration

Does Solfit come in Portrait orientation?

No Solfit does not currently come in portrait orientation

What is the Wp output of Solfit panels?

Solfit currently come in have two panel types, a 375Wp panel and a 425Wp panel

What is the warranty and Guarantee for Solfit?

Water tightness; 15 years, Product Warranty; 15 Years, Output Guarantee; 30 years

What are the installed sizes of Solfit?

The installed dimensions for 375Wp panel is; 1802mm x 1050mm, 425Wp panel is 1145mm x 1172mm

Does Solfit require additional mounting roofing battens?

Yes, Solfit needs to be mounted on additional 50mm x 25mm battens

Can Solfit be used with micro inverters and optimisers?

Yes

Can you use Arc Boxes with Solfit?

Yes Solfit is compatible with Arc Boxes

Is Solfit Compatible with all inverter types?

Solfit is compatible with all inverter types

Can Solfit be used with batteries?

Yes Solfit is compatible with all battery types

Can Solfit be fitted in all configurations?

Solfit can be fitted in all configurations and shapes

Can Solfit be fitted around Velux windows?

It can but we do not have specialist flashings yet to integrate with Velux flashings

Can Solfit be fitted to the ridge?

Solfit can be fitted to the ridge, but we usually recommend a row of tiles and slates

Can Solfit be fitted to the gutter?

Solfit can be fitted to the gutter, but we would recommend a lead or lead substitute bottom flashing

Can Solfit be fitted to the gable ends?

Not usually, Solfit needs at least one slate or tile width up the gable so we would always recommend a spare 300mm at a minimum between panel and outside edge.

Is Solfit compatible with all slate and tile types?

Yes Solfit and Solfit flashings are compatible with all slate and tile types

Do all flashings need to be used?

Unlike other in-roof systems such as GSE all flashings need to be used

Can Solfit use Lead or lead substitute on bottom flashing?

The lead or Lead substitute of your choice can be used with Solfit bottom flashing, or you can use the metal bottom flashing

Why is Solfit fitted from the ridge down?

Solfit has the unique USP of being designed to be fitted from ridge down for ease of installation.

Can Panels be removed if broken?

Yes Solfit panels can be replaced by removing the column of panels below the faulty panel

What happens if a panel breaks in the future?

Panels are always changing size and output. We keep a reserve of all panels manufactured as spares

Does Solfit need to be fitted with the use of roofing vertically mounted counter battens?

Solfit does not need to be fitted with counter battens, but counter battens work well for ventilation

Does Solfit have to have High resistant membrane fitted under the panels?

New building regulations state that in-roof panels need to be fitted with high resistant membranes if there is no ventilation under the panels or in the absence of an suitable attic space

Do you need to be trained and qualified to fit Solfit?

Solfit has comprehensive video and instruction manual that enables most installer to fit without formal training. We are at the end of the phone or video call s to answer any issues

Does Solfit offer training?

For those who want it, we can arrange online training course, practical training in Penrith and Birmingham or site training on a specific job (but we do charge for this service)
