Project overview

Manchester Renewables worked with PIC Homes to deliver a roof-integrated solar solution across a 46-plot new-build residential development in Sale, Greater Manchester. Each home was fitted with 16 Solfit 425 W landscape panels, delivering a total of 736 panels across the site.

The system was designed to ensure every property met current new-build energy-efficiency regulations while maintaining a clean, consistent roof aesthetic across the development.

Roof type & build context

All plots featured standard domestic pitched roofs with concrete tiles. To achieve the required panel count per property, a landscape-orientated integrated system was essential, allowing greater flexibility within roof constraints without compromising design.

Why Solfit was selected

Manchester Renewables assessed alternative landscape integrated solutions and Solfit was selected based on:

  • Landscape panel orientation, enabling compliance with efficiency regulations

  • More competitive pricing compared with other landscape in-roof systems

  • A clean, integrated aesthetic suited to modern housing developments

  • Strong technical and site support from the Solfit team

"Solfit provided a cost-effective landscape solution that allowed us to meet new-build efficiency requirements across a large multi-plot development. The system looks great, installs well, and the support from Solfit was awesome, including a site visit on day one. We would most definitely use Solfit again."

Manchester Renewables described the support as “awesome”, helping maintain installation momentum and consistency across all 46 homes.

Outcome & feedback

The project successfully delivered:

  • Full compliance with new-build efficiency requirements

  • A consistent, integrated roof appearance across the development

  • A scalable solution suitable for volume housing projects

Manchester Renewables confirmed they would most definitely use Solfit again on future developments.
